There is no direct KTX from Incheon Airport to Busan. The usual route is the AREX Express to Seoul Station (43 minutes from Terminal 1, ₩13,000 for adults), then a KTX to Busan Station (about 2 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours, ₩54,400 in standard class). You can also take a direct airport bus to Haeundae (₩58,400), or hand your bags to a luggage delivery service in the arrivals hall, ride the train with just a daypack, and get them at your Busan hotel by 21:00 the same day.
Key takeaways

- Since the September 2026 high-speed rail merger, the adult KTX fare from Seoul to Busan has dropped from ₩59,800 to ₩54,400.
- Direct buses run from Incheon Airport to Busan: the Haeundae service leaves Terminal 1 16 times a day and costs ₩58,400.
- Incheon–Gimhae flights are transit-only domestic flights, sold only together with an international ticket, and transfer passengers can't leave the arrivals area.
- From landing to checking in at a Haeundae hotel usually takes 5–7 hours by train, so what you do with your luggage shapes the whole day.

AREX Express + KTX from Seoul Station: the usual route
AREX plus the KTX is the route most travellers take, with frequent departures and predictable journey times. According to AREX, the Express runs non-stop to Seoul Station in 43 minutes from Terminal 1 and 51 minutes from Terminal 2, with a discounted adult fare of ₩13,000 and reserved seats throughout. At Seoul Station you walk from the AREX platforms to Korail's KTX platforms, so allow extra time if you're pulling a big suitcase. Book the KTX on Korail's website or the Korail+ app; tickets usually go on sale about a month before departure.
Bus 6770 + KTX from Gwangmyeong: skip Seoul Station
If you'd rather not change trains at Seoul Station with your luggage, take airport bus 6770 to KTX Gwangmyeong Station and board a Busan-bound KTX there. According to Incheon Airport, route 6770 is run by Korail, costs ₩16,000 for adults, and leaves Terminal 1 between 06:25 and 22:25. Gwangmyeong is southwest of Seoul and not every KTX stops there, so check that your train does when you book.

Direct airport bus to Busan: no changes, but the longest ride

According to Incheon Airport's bus listings, the Haeundae bus costs ₩58,400 for adults and leaves Terminal 1 16 times a day (06:30–23:50), stopping at East Busan on the way. Buses to East Busan (₩70,000) and West Busan Sasang (₩53,900) run only twice a day. The airport doesn't publish journey times, but expect 5 hours or more, longer in heavy traffic.
Domestic flights: transit-only, or Gimpo to Gimhae
Flights from Incheon to Busan's Gimhae Airport are transit-only domestic flights for passengers connecting from an international flight, and they have to be booked together with your international ticket. According to Incheon Airport, passengers transferring from an international flight to one of these flights may not exit the arrivals hall: you follow the "Transfer" signs, get a boarding pass at the transfer desk if needed and go through transfer security before boarding. The alternative is the AREX all-stop train to Gimpo Airport and a separate Gimpo–Gimhae flight, but that means another ticket and checking your bags in again at Gimpo.

What time will you reach Busan? Planning arrival day
By AREX and KTX, getting from landing to your Busan hotel usually takes 5–7 hours, depending on the immigration queue and how far your hotel is from Busan Station. Incheon Airport advises allowing 1–2 hours for arrival formalities when booking public transport from the airport.
| Leg | Approximate time |
|---|---|
| Immigration, baggage claim and customs | 1–2 hours |
| AREX Express to Seoul Station | 43 min (Terminal 1) / 51 min (Terminal 2) |
| Change to the KTX at Seoul Station (walk and wait) | Allow 30 minutes or more |
| KTX from Seoul Station to Busan Station | About 2 hr 20 min–3 hr |
| Busan Station to Haeundae (subway Line 1, then Line 2) | About 1 hour |
To plan your day:
- Take your flight's scheduled landing time and add 1–2 hours for arrival formalities to get the earliest time you can leave the airport.
- Don't book too early a KTX, especially after a long-haul flight, where delays are more likely.
- Once the KTX is booked, check where your Busan hotel is: Busan Station and Nampo are closest, while Haeundae and Gwangalli are about another hour by subway.
- If check-in isn't until 15:00 and you'll arrive in Busan earlier, make sure the hotel can hold your bags.

Incheon Airport to Busan luggage delivery: hand over your bags at the airport, get them at your hotel that evening
Incheon Airport to Busan luggage delivery means handing your bags over in the arrivals hall after you land and having them taken straight to your Busan hotel, while you ride the AREX and KTX with just a daypack. Korail lets each passenger bring up to two items that don't take up a seat or block the aisle, and large suitcases can only go in the luggage space between carriages, which can't be reserved and is first come, first served. In Busan you may also have to drag them through a subway transfer at Seomyeon. With two or more big suitcases, or with kids or older relatives, sending the bags separately is usually the least tiring option.
LuggAgent offers same-day delivery from Incheon Airport to Busan: after landing, meet our agent at the arrivals-hall meeting point, hand over your bags in person, and they reach your Busan hotel by 21:00 the same day (by 18:00 with priority delivery). This route needs at least 9 hours between pickup and delivery, so it suits morning arrivals; if you land later, check which handover times are available when you book.
Passengers on a transit-only domestic flight never leave the arrivals area at Incheon, so they can't hand over bags there; airport handover only works if you clear immigration at Incheon and exit the arrivals hall.
How it works:
- Book online in advance: most services need to be booked at least 24–72 hours in advance, and the exact cutoff is shown on the booking page (if you're picked up at an Airbnb or guesthouse, meet the driver in person at your chosen 09:00–11:00 pickup time with your bags; if your bags are delivered to one, send the full address and entry details by 13:00 local time on the service day, and you don't need to be there).
- Choose a handover time at least 1 hour after your scheduled landing, to allow for immigration and baggage claim.
- After customs, go to the arrivals-hall meeting point in your confirmation and hand your bags to the agent.
- Take the AREX and KTX to Busan with just a daypack; you're notified at pickup and at delivery.
- Your bags reach your Busan hotel front desk by 21:00 the same day (by 18:00 with priority delivery).
Each bag can be up to 180 cm (length + width + height) and 32 kg; large items such as golf bags can be up to 250 cm and 25 kg.
If you're heading straight from the airport to a Busan hotel, you can hand your bags to us at the airport and have them delivered that day:
If you clear immigration at Incheon in the morning and fly out of Gimhae that evening, for example to Japan or Jeju, your bags can go straight to the international terminal meeting point at Gimhae Airport, even on a domestic flight; allow extra time to move between the two terminals, and we recommend choosing a delivery time at least 2 hours before your flight departs:
If you fly into Gimpo instead, for example from Tokyo Haneda or Taipei Songshan, we can also deliver from Gimpo Airport to your Busan hotel:

What is the fastest way from Incheon Airport to Busan?
For most travellers, the fastest reliable option is the AREX Express to Seoul Station and then the KTX to Busan Station: about 3 to 4 hours of travel in total, plus time to change at Seoul Station. If your international ticket already includes a transit-only Incheon–Gimhae flight, the flight itself is only about an hour, but you connect inside the transfer area and can't exit the arrivals hall first.

Yes. A direct long-distance bus runs from Incheon Airport to Haeundae for ₩58,400 per adult, leaving Terminal 1 16 times a day between 06:30 and 23:50; departures from Terminal 2 leave 20 minutes earlier. Can I book a domestic flight from Incheon to Busan on its own?
Generally not. Incheon–Gimhae flights are transit-only domestic flights for passengers connecting to or from an international flight at Incheon, and they're booked together with the international ticket. If you just want to fly from the Seoul area to Busan, use a domestic flight from Gimpo Airport, which you can reach from Incheon Airport on the AREX all-stop train.
Can my luggage reach my Busan hotel on the day I land?
Yes. With LuggAgent, you hand your bags to an agent in the Incheon Airport arrivals hall and they're delivered to your Busan hotel by 21:00 the same day (by 18:00 with priority delivery).
