Incheon Airport to Seoul Hotels with Luggage: AREX, Bus, Taxi or Same-Day Delivery to Myeongdong, Hongdae and Gangnam

The fastest way from Incheon Airport into Seoul is the AREX Express train to Seoul Station (about 43 minutes from Terminal 1, roughly ₩13,000 for adults). For Myeongdong, airport buses 6001 and 6015 cost ₩17,000, but each passenger can only load 2 bags. If you have more luggage, or are travelling with kids or older relatives, an Incheon Airport luggage delivery service can take your bags in the arrivals hall and drop them at your Seoul hotel by 21:00 the same day, so you ride into the city empty-handed.

Key takeaways

How do you get from Incheon Airport to Seoul? 4 options compared

There are four main ways from Incheon Airport to central Seoul: the AREX Express, the AREX all-stop train, the airport bus and a taxi. With a single carry-on any of them works. With two or more large suitcases, the difference comes down to transfers, stairs and how much room there is for bags.

Option Destination Journey time Adult fare With large luggage
AREX Express Seoul Station About 43 min (T1) / about 51 min (T2) About ₩13,000 Reserved seats and luggage racks; you still need to transfer at Seoul Station
AREX all-stop train Hongik Univ., Seoul Station and more About 59 min (T1 to Seoul Station) About ₩4,750–5,350 (transit card) Commuter carriages; standing room only at rush hour, little space for bags
Airport bus 6001 / 6015 Myeongdong area 1 hour or more, depending on traffic ₩17,000 Bags go in the hold, 2 per person
Taxi Your hotel door 1 hour or more, depending on traffic About ₩70,000 or more (incl. tolls) Least effort door to door, but the most expensive

AREX airport railroad: Express vs all-stop

The AREX Express is the fastest way to Seoul Station: every seat is reserved, and it runs non-stop in about 43 minutes from Terminal 1 or about 51 minutes from Terminal 2. Fares are set by AREX; the discounted adult fare most often quoted is about ₩13,000. The all-stop train works like a subway line, calling at Gimpo Airport, Hongik University, Gongdeok and other stations, and takes about 59 minutes to Seoul Station from Terminal 1. It is far cheaper, but at commuting hours the carriages are packed, and standing the whole way with a big suitcase is no fun.

Airport bus: 6001 and 6015 to Myeongdong

For Myeongdong without changing, the airport bus is the simplest option: route 6001 (Dongdaemun–Myeongdong) and route 6015 (Myeongdong–Euljiro–Mapo) both cost ₩17,000 for adults. Under the bus operator's rules, each passenger may load 2 bags, each under 28 inches and 20 kg, with length + width + height no more than 158 cm. Only 1 bag per person may be over 20 kg or 28 inches, and each bag beyond the free allowance costs ₩8,000. Credit cards generally aren't accepted on board, so have a transit card or cash ready.

Taxi: door to door, but the priciest

A taxi takes you straight to your hotel entrance and works best for groups of 3–4 with lots of luggage. From Incheon Airport to Myeongdong, a regular taxi usually costs ₩70,000 or more once tolls are added, and more late at night or in heavy traffic. If you have many bags, consider a larger jumbo taxi.

Incheon Airport to Myeongdong, Hongdae or Gangnam: which route with luggage?

Where you stay decides the easiest route: Myeongdong suits the airport bus, Hongdae has a direct AREX all-stop connection, and Gangnam is the farthest away with no direct rail link. The table below shows the best way with one or two large suitcases.

Where you stay Best option What to watch with large luggage
Myeongdong, Euljiro, Seoul Station Airport bus 6001 / 6015, or AREX Express to Seoul Station then subway Line 4 Many Myeongdong subway exits are stairs only, so the last stretch is hardest if your hotel isn't by the bus stop
Hongdae, Hapjeong, Yeonnam-dong AREX all-stop train to Hongik University Station Very crowded at rush hour; long walk from the station exits
Gangnam, Jamsil Airport bus or taxi By subway you transfer at Seoul Station or Gimpo Airport with long walks between lines, the most tiring option with bags

Pavements in Myeongdong and Hongdae are busy, with plenty of slopes and steps, so dragging two big suitcases from the subway to your hotel often takes more effort than the ride itself. And if check-in isn't until 15:00, you still have to leave your bags at the front desk before heading out again.

Incheon Airport luggage delivery: how to send your bags straight to your Seoul hotel

Incheon Airport luggage delivery means handing your bags to a delivery service at the airport, which takes them to your Seoul hotel while you travel into the city empty-handed. With the bus limited to 2 bags per person, the all-stop train packed at rush hour, taxis expensive, and stairs and crowds around Myeongdong and Hongdae, sending the bags separately is usually the easiest choice with 3 or more suitcases or with kids or older relatives.

Incheon Airport has storage and courier counters in the terminals, and local companies also offer delivery to hotels; collection times, delivery times and prices vary, so check before you go. With LuggAgent, an agent holding a LuggAgent sign meets you at the arrivals-hall meeting point, takes your bags in person and delivers them to your hotel or guesthouse in Seoul.

How it works:

  1. Book online in advance: most services need to be booked at least 24–72 hours in advance, and the exact cutoff is shown on the booking page (if you're picked up at an Airbnb or guesthouse, meet the driver in person at your chosen 09:00–11:00 pickup time with your bags; if your bags are delivered to one, send the full address and entry details by 13:00 local time on the service day, and you don't need to be there).
  2. Choose an airport handover time at least 1 hour after your scheduled landing, to allow for immigration and baggage claim.
  3. After customs, go to the arrivals-hall meeting point in your confirmation and hand your bags to the agent with the sign.
  4. Ride AREX or the bus into the city with nothing to carry and go straight to shopping or dinner.
  5. Your bags reach the hotel front desk by 21:00 the same day (by 18:00 with priority delivery), with a notification at pickup and at delivery.

Going home: how to get your luggage from a Seoul hotel to Incheon Airport

There are three common ways to handle luggage on departure day: leave it with the hotel front desk after check-out and come back for it before heading to the airport; check in and drop your bags at the Seoul Station City Airport Terminal; or have a delivery service take the bags straight to the airport.

At the City Airport Terminal at Seoul Station you can check in and drop your bags, then ride the AREX Express to the airport with nothing to carry. Its renovation was completed in August 2026, adding a numbered queue system and smart baggage scales. Participating airlines, opening hours and conditions change, so check the AREX website and your airline before you go.

If you want to keep exploring in the afternoon, LuggAgent can take your bags from the hotel to Incheon Airport (we recommend a delivery time at least 2 hours before your flight departs), and an agent hands them back to you in person at the airport.
